It’s generally agreed upon by residents of Athens, Ga., that life here is good. Very good. We’re talking good food, good music, good culture, good community. Like any other town, we have our share of problems that need to be confronted, and there are a number of people and organizations fighting to combat poverty, the spread of HIV/AIDS, homelessness and a litany of other issues (more on them to come in future entries). What I am interested in doing here, though, is celebrating my home. I moved here from West Virginia four years ago, and it didn’t take long for me to start thinking of myself as an Athenian. This blog is all about the reasons why I am proud and thankful to call the Classic City my home.
